Cinnamon Essential Oil - a Bible Healing Oil

Cinnamomum verum 002Cinnamon essential oil has a rich and wonderful history, along with some wonderful health and healing benefits.

Cinnamon and Cassia are listed in the Bible as two of the aromatic ingredients for the holy anointing oil; however, ancient Hebrews were not the only nation to use Cinnamon and Cassia in anointing. The ancient Egyptians were highly spiritual-minded and used many herbal preparations for healing and ritual cleansing. Cassia (Cinnamomum cassia), a relative of cinnamon, is mentioned in an 16th century BC Egyptian list of herbal preparations – the Ebers papyrus.

Fast forward to today and cassia is often sold as the generic cinnamon spice that we use in cooking.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) was reported as being a part of a grave robbing crime spree in the 15th century. During this time period, the black plague was running rampant across Europe, killing millions. Since the disease was so contagious, the dead would be left unburied where ever they fell.

Opportunistic thieves discovered the protective properties of clove, cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. Then, they stripped the valuables off of the dead people without becoming ill.

The King learned of this and immediately had them arrested, eager to discover how they had managed to prevent contracting the plague. It wasn't long after this that the plague was under control and the people could bury their dead.

Modern science now knows that the herbs did not stop the plague, but may have given the rest of the population's immune system an extra boost.

That's actually why I'm sharing this today, I am so excited about the amazing benefits of these “magical” oils.

I truly believe that our physical health affects how well we can hear that still small voice of the Great Healer. So, I found it exciting to read that cinnamon essential oil and cassia essential oil, are naturally high in phenylpropanoids, which, according to David Stewart Ph.D. in his book Healing Oils of the Bible, I read are capable of cleansing the receptor sites of our cells.

Our Lord wants to make our path as easy as possible and even provided cinnamon essential oil as a possible way for us to be more receptive to the call of repentance by preparing the body for our physical healing first! Isn't that exciting?! Of course, each individual still must choose for himself; but, I find it much easier to hear when my spiritual ears aren't plugged by a dragging body, don't you?

Whether you are looking for emotional and spiritual healing and cleansing or you want to enjoy the strong physical benefits of using these oils for good health and safe, environmentally friendly cleaning, these oils are a must have.
